Grace Liu

Design for

Emotional Needs, Public Space

Year

2019-2020

Grace Headshot

Grace’s design journey began with product design and has transformed into interdisciplinary practices that are situated in a dynamic context. Her work explores the interrelationship between objects and the outward world, and how nonhuman objects have power to rearrange perceptions through active interactions with human beings.

INSIGHT

What is your favourite part of the D4C programme?

My favourite part would be the three design labs with different emphasis which enabled me to identify the specific area and intersections that I have interest and strength to dive deeper.

What area of design are you most interest in?

I am interested in exploring public space, especially urban nature environments. My current investigation lies in how nonhuman objects can influence the way people perceive the surrounding sphere and foster positive behaviours.

One book or reading recommendation?

The Ecological Approach to Visual Perception by James J. Gibson
